REALITY - AT MY HOUSE

I think often pictures speak louder than words.

These photos were quickly snapped on my phone this afternoon.

Not a lot of blogging going on here at the moment...

Afternoon Addition - this feels so therapuetic to post these pictures - I dare you to do the same and post your house, just the way it is looking right now! Let me know if you've been brave enough to do it in the comments below...and feel free to link back here so that others know you're not the only one!!

29.07.11 I have just linked this post with Magdalena from the Craft Revival.

Looks like a happy place for kiddos though. We have the same funny face plate.

Hpe you find some little serene space amongst the chaos.

I love you. If I ever have the guts to post pics like these, I'll be sure to add a link to you so my mother-in-law realises I'm not alone. God! How does it happen? It's like 'stealth-messing' and our kids are SO GOOD at it!

Oh the joys of family life - and congratulations for posting these pics!

Yep. I'm sure we've all been there at least once. I hope it doesn't get you down though. Just focus on the first word you wrote on this post - reality, not fantasy.

Snap! Mine is a mirror image of this - just add in pile of yet to be folded laundry and clothes horses randomly around the heating vents iwth wet clothes on them! Love that you were brave enough to share.

Yep - this looks like a house where kids are having fun. When my son was little he could turn a tidy room into a 'not tidy room' (I call it the tornado look) in seconds flat! It's great to see real posts, and thanks for sharing :) Your posts are always interesting.

Looks lived in - and much tidier than my place at the moment!!

Honestly Emma, I think you're just showing off - this is so tidy and orderly! And I have serious sofa envy... but we are not buying a new sofa until the Small Girl has left home!

A lovely reminder that I'm not the only one - sometimes it feels that way in blogland, all the perfect interiors. If I took a photo of my kitchen now, you'd see plates still there from lunch (it's 3.35), newspapers, a cookbook open, toys, junk mail and lots of crumbs. I'm not even going to look at the floor right now! But there's a cake in the oven. a girl enjoying some quiet time somewhere else in the house, a boy asleep and I've done the supermarket shopping and a couple of loads of washing. It's not as bad as it looks - it's just that they are so good at making mess!

Hope you're having a lovely day, lovely Emma!

Ahh kids they keep you on your toes, I don't think it's possible to always keep things spick and span but may be one day.......... I hope your mother's day was a great one. xo

Yes, it looks familiar, our house is also a constant bomb site. Thanks for keeping it real, Emma.

it makes me feel a whole lot better seeing this. So therapy for you yes, but therapy for the rest of us too.

ahh yes, that is what my house looks like at the moment & it's just Aidan & I at home. what is with crumbs everywhere, can't my kids put food into their mouths without the whole house knowing about it!!
I need to get off the computer & do one of those superficial clean ups, vaccuming always helps ;)
i love that you posted this post, soo very true for us all even if my blogland doesn't show those things.

Thanks so much for playing along and being brave!

Thank you. It's so reassuring to see a house that looks like mine (although yours looks like mine on a good day). All the perfectly styled and tidy homes out there in blogland can be very demoralizing.
